Tips and hintsOf course, during the summer months a visit to the Karl-May-Festspiele suggests itself.
A few kilometres south of the Rübenkamp the village of Lennestadt-Meggen was the location of Europe’s largest barite mine in the 1970s. The mining museum Sicilia-Schacht has excellent exhibits relating to this bygone industry.
Right next to the museum are the "Sauerland Pyramids", where temporary exhibitions on natural history subjects frequently take place.
Getting thereComing from the direction of Olpe, you can reach the area on the B 55 trunk road if you drive towards Lennestadt and follow the "Elspe Festival" signs.
